The Generalitat opens the line for the acquisition of electric vehicles and the installation of charging points.
The Department of Enterprise and Knowledge, through l'Institut Català d'Energia, opened on May 21, the call for aid for the promotion of sustainable mobility.
The grants amount to almost 7.3 million euros and include subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of charging points.
Purpose: to advance in the decarbonisation of the transport sector, which in Catalonia is the main consumer of final energy, this together with the climate emergency announcement declared by the Government of Catalonia.
Fields of action:
The objective is to encourage the entry into circulation of new vehicles propelled with cleaner technologies and encourage the removal of old vehicles, which pollute more.
In the case of cars and light vans, in order to access the aid, it will be mandatory to remove the vehicle if it is more than 10 or 7 years old, that has been in the name of the applicant for the last 12 months and that they had the ITV as of the date of February 16 and the tax paid in 2018.
The aid will cover 40% of the cost of associated load and civil works equipment, with a maximum of 100,000 euros.
Summary:
The resources of these aids come from the National Energy Efficiency Fund, constituted with contributions from the electricity tariff and created at the request of the European Union.
In the Spanish State these resources are managed from the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDEA), and this is the first year that they are territorialized after the Generalitat, in accordance with the exercise of its powers in energy matters, claimed the management via resources to the TC, which have failed favorably for the interests of the Generalitat.
These actions are in addition to the policies for the promotion of the electric vehicle that the Government of Catalonia has been promoting since 2016 within the framework of the strategic plan for the deployment of recharging infrastructures for electric vehicles in Catalonia, with an accumulated investment, to date, of 2.29 million euros.
ICAEN, has announced that a line of aid will be published to complete the electric vehicle recharging network in Catalonia, with the aim that the entire territory has, in a maximum of 30 kilometers, a station that allows recharging up to 120 kilometers in less of half an hour.

- Acquisition of alternative energy vehicles. It is subsidized through acquisition by direct purchase, lising or renting. Amounts between € 600 and € 1500 depending on the type and technology of combustion.

- Implementation of electric vehicle infrastructures. The implementation of a recharging infrastructure of all types will be subsidized for individuals, businesses and administrations.

- Implementation of an electric bicycle loan system. Oriented to administrations, companies and institutions. This measure is aimed at promoting the implementation of this equipment in the public sector, companies and industrial estates. The aid covers up to 30% of the cost of the project, civil works, bases, bicycles and the management program, with a maximum of 100,000 euros per application.
- Implementation of measures contained in transportation plans to work in companies. This finalist contributes to implement measures that are part of transport plans to the workplace or business travel plans.
